• Bots can still decode it: Advanced spambots can easily recognize and extract these modified formats, offering very little protection.

Using a Contact Form

A contact form is a slightly better solution because it keeps your email address hidden from spambots. Visitors can send messages directly through the form, which offers a layer of protection. However, it’s not without its downsides.

Why It May Be Inconvenient:

• Many users prefer their email clients: People like using their own email applications because it allows them to track their conversations, attach files easily, and ensure their name and email address are immediately visible to the recipient. Contact forms take away this convenience.
• Less user-friendly: Filling out a form can take more time, and some visitors might simply avoid using it.

Encoding Your Email Address

A more advanced solution is encoding your email address. With this method, your email address doesn’t appear as text on your website but is instead displayed through code that runs in the browser.

Advantages:

• Harder for spambots to crack: The email address is not directly available in the website’s source code, making it much more difficult for bots to collect.
• Preserves usability: The email address remains readable and clickable for visitors, maintaining a good user experience.

This is one of the most effective methods because it offers both security and convenience. Spammers tend to avoid encoded addresses since decoding them requires extra effort and resources.
